Description

The “Red Brush” country of Benton County, Iowa, was the location and inspiration for author Major Lee Boddicker as he developed his interest in hunting and writing. Major attended grades school in Vinton, Iowa, during the 1950’s. His uncle Cato introduced him to red fox hunting in 1954, and Major has been hooked on predator calling and hunting since.

From 1964 to 1973, Major attended graduate school and worked in South Dakota. It was during this period that the events and calling methods described in this book occurred. The early predator calling years were free from regulative minutia, no-trespassing signs, and cash; therefore, many of the experiences described in this book will likely not happen again.

Today, Major writes and operates his international wildlife consulting business from his lakeside home in Windsor, CO.

As of 2007, Major hunts varmints frequently across the plains and mountains of the western USA.
